Burnley 0-2 United: 5 Things We Learnt As United Burnt Burnley

Manchester United ended the year 2019 and indeed the decade on a high at Turf Moor. One goal each at the stroke of half time and full time was enough to package the rough year in a nice wrap.

Here are five things ManUtdNaijaFM learnt from the victory at Turf Moor stadium.

1. LINGARD DID IT!!!
Jesse 'Awilo' Lingard finally made it. He was able to successfully go through the entire year 2019 without a single goal or as Naija would say, 'assist kpa-kpa in the EPL.

To add 'salt to injury', he played 30 games, mostly as a No10!!! This feat is only achievable by a goalkeeper!

2. FABULOUSLY FANTASTIC FRED
The Brazilian midfielder has been in 'sweet dodo'  form in recent weeks. He put in another 'Chivita-stic' performance today in the heart of midfield against the very physical Burnley.

He was the midfield fulcrum, constantly switching play and at the same time, ever ready to win the balls for United. He was excellent today. He deserves a Naija naming ceremony immediately after this Christmas and New year festivities.

3. FINALLY, A CLEAN SHEET
It's been a horrible time for United's defence line and goalkeeper as they have been 'swallowing' goals like 'eba' with 13 consecutive games without a clean sheet. We finally got one today, the third of the season.

Coincidentally, the only games we've had a clean sheet this season are the ones Nemanja 'Agu' Matic started......he started today and added stability to the midfield.

4. DANIEL 'OSONDU' JAMES
The electric-paced winger has been a good signing for United. He's not a fantastic footballer, but he has kept things simple, terrifying defences with his pace....'Osondu'.

He is now top of United's assist chart with six assists. His best position is actually on the left where he is likely to score more goals, but he has taken the right wing and he is making the best of it..

5. COMPLETE WIN
This was one game where United not just won, but won convincingly. Dominated possession, goal attempts, shots on target and restricted Burnley to just one shot on target which De Gea appropriately responded to.

Kudos to the defence line for a clean job and to Rashford and Martial for taking their one-on-one chances well.

IN THE END, it was an "Nkwobi-stic" way to end the year:  away win, clean sheet and freshly fried three points!!

Congrats to Marcus 'Rashidi-Yekini' who scored United's last goal of the year and last goal of the decade.
