Huddersfield 1-1 United: 5 Things We Learnt As United Closed Champions League Case

Manchester United finally sealed their fate of losing out on a top-four spot in the English Premier League after  playing a 1-1 draw with relegation-bound Huddersfield.

It was the last away game of the season and here are five things #ManUtdNaijaFM learnt from the painful exit.

1. NO MORE MATHEMATICS
With this draw today, it has become official that United will play in the Europa league next season. No more calculating things like "If Arsenal plays a draw and Chelsea loses while Tottenham loses by seven goals, we will make top-4".

We are out of the race and we can all go to sleep.

2. WELL DESERVED
Of the top-four contestants, United had the best final two games. We couldn't have had it better as we had two relegated teams to play against. But we couldn't cross a simple Huddersfield hurdle.

The exit from the top-four race was well deserved. United's board need to decide what to do with the club next season.

3 BONAZA! BONANZA!! BONANZA
With a massive overhaul expected at tge end of this season, Manchester United have so many 'dead wood' that #ManUtdNaijaFM would want to suggest to the board to do a promo for players e.g. 'Buy Ashley Young and get Jones free'.

4. THANK YOU SIR, BUT GOODBYE
United's current No7, Alexis, may arguably be one of the worst signings in United's history, considering his wages.

It has been from bad to worse. Watching him limp off again today made us realize that finally (or 'las las' as we say in Naija), Alexis has had more injuries than goals since signing. We are grateful for his efforts but it may be time to say goodbye.

5. KEEP HIM! KEEP HIM!! KEEP HIM!!!
No matter the clear out United may be planning at the end of this season, the baby-faced midfield warrior, Ander 'Akinbode' Herrera should not be allowed to leave.

His energy and passion is visible even to the blind. Infact, he is the best captain material in the squad right now. #HererraPleaseDontGo.

IN THE END, it was a sad result especially considering that United was the only team in the top-six that Huddersfield gained a point from this season.

We shall now return to playing 'thursday-thursday' football next season. Case closed!!
