Wolves 2-1 United: 5 Things We Learnt As 'Hungry Wolves' Devoured United

Manchester United were shown a red card out of the FA cup by a 'ferocious pack of Wolves' at the Molineux stadium. It was the second consecutive defeat for United.

Here are five things #ManUtdNaijaFM learnt from the FA cup exit:

1. BLUNT PERFORMANCE
If United's game today was a razor blade, it wouldn't cut a thread. The display was flat, there was no bite, no drive, no excitement.

Contrary to the loss at the Emirates, this was a well deserved thrashing. We owe Sergio Romero a huge appreciation as it could have been worse.

2. HUNGRY WOLVES
Wolverhampton wanderers played like a pack of hungry Wolves today. They were compact in defence and attacked decisively.

They were constantly aware of United's counter attacking threat and always left bodies behind. They showed more hunger for the win today.

3. SILENT THREE
United's front three of Martial, Rashford and Lingard had a quiet night. They offered no threat to the Wolves  defenders; Martial was the worst of the three.

One shot on target at 90 minutes tells the story of United's attack today. Wolves goalkeeper was even alleged to have gone out to buy 'Gala' during the match as he had nothing to do.

4. RUST IN THE AIR
Ironically, the mass return of injured players may have been United's undoing tonight. With Matic, Herrera, Martial and Lingard all thrown back into the starting XI, the match rustiness and friction in play was clear.

This may have been the team that kick started United's resurgence under Olè, but they will need some time to gel again after being disrupted by injuries.

5. LUKE 'AJEBOTA' SHAW
The left full back had a game of mixed feelings. Despite being at fault for the second goal, he was one of United's stand out performers in tonight's flat display.

He kept the left wing alive today, and he was rewarded with a fine assist for Rashford's consolation goal.

IN THE END, It was heart breaking that after climbing the Chelsea mountain and crossing the red Arsenal sea in the FA cup, we got drowned in Wolves Lake (or stream sef).

Well, it's the FA cup where anything can happen. Let's focus on the main goal of the season; performing the top-four miracle!!!
