United 0-2 PSG: 5 Things We Learnt As United Crashed

Manchester United were handed their first defeat since the takeover of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

It was a big European night, one Old Trafford had missed for a long time. But United crashed with two unreplied goals conceded, key injuries and a red card.

Here are 5 matters arising from this crash:

1. COMPLACENT MARTIAL
Having just signed a new contract and scored a brilliant solo goal against Fulham, a lot was expected from Anthony Martial today.

He just seemed to lack the fire and zeal in the 1st half. There wasn't much contribution from him prior to his injury which we sincerely hope is minor.

2. LOCKED POGBA
The Parisiens planned prior to the game to lock Paul Pogba and they did. Infact, I don't know where they got the padlock or 'Pog-lock' from and who they gave the key.

Each time he was on the ball, he had three men on him forcing Matic to come forward with the ball more often. It finally ended in the most terrible way for him with a red card.

3. WRONG SUBS
With Martial injured today, I think the boss got it wrong by bringing a struggling Sanchez in a game of such magnitude.

At that time, Lukaku coming in would have been a preferred option so as to push Rashford to his favoured left wing and thus maintain the game tempo. Having Mata and Sanchez beside Rashford did not help at all.

4. KYLIAN MBAPPE
Whatever plans United had to stop this 'Usain Bolt' of PSG did not work. The young man kept slipping off the grasp of our centre backs like he also wore an "Okro soup" jersey.

We need to find a way to stop him in Paris with this two-goal deficit, which means we have to score at least two 'goals without answer'.

5. ALEXIS, ALEXIS, ALEXIS!!
This former Arsenal warlord is yet to find himself at Old Trafford. He struggled under Josè and has continued to struggle under Solskjaer.

His coming in today, practically quenched United's attack and burnt every hope of coming back.

He has cut his hair before, no way. Maybe he should dye his hair red, try tucking out his jersey or keeping a beard.....everything should be tried to rediscover his magic!!

IN THE END, Ole finally suffered his first defeat at United's boss, and it turned out to be United's biggest home defeat in the champions league in their entire history!! How sad for our baby-faced assassin.

No need to cry, let's get ready for the clash with Chelsea in the FA cup!!

OPINION POLL
What did you think about last night's game? Should Solskjaer try Alexis on the right?
