Southampton 2-2 United: 5 Things We Learnt As United Slumped Again

Manchester United once again displayed another 'Amaka' performance at the St Mary Stadium as they dropped a 2nd consecutive 2 points.

Here are 5 things we learnt from the 'Ogbolo soup' (draw):

1. NO SURPRISES
United's line-up was today was the most shocking ever. One wasn't sure whether it was 4-4-2 or 3-5-2. Infact, it looked more like 1-7-2 as Phil 'Osaze Jones was the only central defender on the pitch.

No surprises therefore  that before any body could say "Eze goes to school", we were 2 goals behind.

2. RELIEF FOR LUKAKU
After going about a dozen games without a goal, Romelu 'Timaya' Lukaku finally got a goal. He played the shot like he was hoping the referee would count it as 2 goals for him.

Despite the goal, his game was poor. It appears his 1st touch is getting worse. United may have to employ Berbatov to give him tutorials on 'Ball control 101'.

3. OUTCAST
With Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof out injured, no one ever thought that our own Eric 'Olusegun' Bailly would not start against Southhampton.

It was shocking that Josè opted for Matic and McTominay while a fit Bailly was on the bench. It's clear that Bailly has become what the Igbo people of Naija call 'Osu'(Outcast). He needs to appease the gods.

4. FIRED UP RASHFORD
Our 'whiz-kid' has been in a very poor form of late. However, his display against the Saints was commendable. He played with so much bite and vigour and single-handedly created the 2 goals.

Indeed, Josè called him the 'Mad dog of the day' in his post-match interview.

5. THERE'S STILL NO PLAN
After seeing the line-up and watching the game, one thing is crystal clear; there's still no plan on how to score or break down teams.

The Only plan is how to defend whether they are playing against Real Madrid of Spain, Bayern Munich of Germany or Eyimba FC of Nigeria.

IN THE END, It was another painful loss of 2 points. We definitely cannot continue like this. Something has to happen.
Kudos to Ander 'Akinbode' Herrera for the lovely equalizer.
