United 0-1 Juventus: 5 Things We Learnt As Juventus Jumped The United Hurdle.

It was another below-par performance by Manchester United as they hosted a CR7-led Juventus at Old Trafford.

Here are 5 matters arising from the defeat:

1. TOO MUCH RESPECT
From the 1st whistle, one thing was crystal clear: Manchester United kept prostrating at the feet of Juventus like the Yoruba tribe of Naija greeting their 'Kabiyesi'(King).

There was too much caution in the play, making the Juventus players so relaxed. From the 75th minute when caution was thrown away, Juventus started making mistakes. If this was started early,........

2. PUNISHED FOR SLOW START
In recent matches, United have had to come from behind to grind out results due to consistent slow starts.

Against Juventus, United started badly again, with the usual 'Anywhere-belè-face' football which led to the goal by Dybala.
Sadly, there was no chance for recovery.

3. ROMELU 'TIMAYA' LUKAKU
United's 'Striker-in-chief' has failed to find the back of the net in recent games. More worrying is the fact that his overall contribution to play seems to be on the decline.

His first touch, movement off and on the ball have been nothing close to impressive.

He is a goal poacher and it appears Josè's current overly defensive style doesn't fit him as he is often isolated upfront.

4.  RASHFORD
Manchester United's 'whiz-kid' has also been a shadow of himself. He looks unhappy and stressed. His confidence appears to have 'applied  both foot and hand
brakes'.

One thing is clear: the young lad is not a right winger. Josè needs to make Rashford happy before it's too late.

5. HAIL LINDELOF.
Our 'Jollof' defender had arguably his best game in a United shirt. He played like a the 'spirit of Vidic and Ferdinand' had descended on him.

His bravery was commendable and we hope we see more of the same from the Swede.

IN THE END, Just when the mood of United fans started rising like 'garri soaked in water', this home defeat deflated it once again. We need consistency! We are Manchester United.

 GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED.
