It was a tough evening at Turf Moor as Manchester United battled it out with Burnley. United had the last laugh finally, thanks to the Chairman of 'Show-me-your-number' committee, Anthony 'Ikechukwu' Martial whose goal sealed a 1-0 win.
Here are Five things #ManUtdNaijaFM learnt from the win:
1. 'MARTIAL ARTS' CONTINUES
Martial's good run of form continued with a CHIVITA-stic finish to make it 3 goals in his last 3 league games(For the first time in his United career).
It's safe to say his performances have rebuked any Sanchez spirit looking to snatch his position. #ManUtdNaijaFM's Man of the match.
2. LUCKY PAUL 'IKENNA' POGBA
For all the Frenchman's FANTA-stic and COKE-astic displays this season and in 2018, the midfielder was way too casual on the ball today, taking a touch too many on different occasions.
He would have taken all the blame if United had dropped any points today, as his selfish refusal to pass the ball to Lukaku or Martial in a 3 on 1 situation literally cost United a second goal.
Needs to work on his decision making. We can't have someone playing bet9ja with United's matches like that.
3. LINGARD NEEDS TO GO BACK TO DUBAI
It's sad to say, but it's starting to seem our very own Commissioner of Dance Affairs, Jesse 'Awilo' Lingard has gone off the boil in recent matches. He has now failed to score or register an assist since the United squad returned from Dubai.
We sincerely hope his December form was not initial gra-gra. If he forgot the form in Dubai, at least we can organize for 'God-is-good' motors to waybill it back to him.
4. ROMELU 'TIMAYA' LUKAKU
Not everyone's cup of 'Bournvita' on the ball, but he is giving his all with his work rate and the stats are counting in his favour.....Notched his 6th assist of the season in all competitions and his 5th in the Premier League.
The Belgian has now assisted 28 goals in the Premier League since the 2013/2014 season; no other striker has assisted more in that period...If United's 'bad bele' rival fans like, they can go and hug transformer.
5. PHIL 'OSAZE' JONES
A rock at the back today, Marshalling the defence, covering up for all overlappers and defaulters. Starting to grow into the role of a defensive leader. Magnificent display capped with a clean sheet. More 'Ororo' to his elbow(we hope the ororo will not get you injured oh).
IN THE END, horrible 1st half display, improved 2nd half, 3 points in the back pocket, and 100% victory in 2018 although game play still has a lot of room for improvement, the ministry keep moving to the permanent site.
UP NEXT...Yeovil Town; Same time, Same station on Friday.
