The Clash of the clean sheet kings season 1 which held at the Old Trafford arena ended with a well taken victory by Manchester United.
These are the five things ManUtdNaijaFM learnt:
1. A 3-MAN MILITARY BARRACK
The combination of Eric "Olusegun" Bailly, Chris "Okonta" Smalling and Phil "Osaze" Jones in the 3-man defence was solid today. Surprisingly, we saw a glimpse of the Smalling of the 'Oga' Philosophy(LVG) era as he had a good game.
Soldier man Valencia and DJ Ashley Young were excellent in their wing-back positions.
Kudos to them for the "Odeshi" performance as De Gea didn't have the opportunity to make any 'Super-fly' saves.
2. MKHITARYAN'S MAGIC CONTINUES TO FADE
Once again Henrikh "Nwokeoma" Mkhitaryan was given another start as the Trequartista behind Marcus "Rashidi-Yekini" and Romelu "Timaya" Lukaku, and once again, he flopped.
His magic and ability to influence the game is fading at a speed of over 180km/hr....He had too many poor touches today and his substitution came too late.
3. LUKAKU "TI-TAKE-OVER" ASSIST
With Romelu "Timaya" Lukaku finding it difficult to find the net (no goals in his last 5 games), the big Belgian has changed his ministry to assists.
He seems to have taken over from Mkhi as he provided the assist for the only goal against Huddersfield and Martial's goal today.
Whether by assist or by goals, the ministry must move forward.....Carry Go!!
4. ANOTHER MOURINHO MASTERCLASS
The wise one José "Uchenna" Mourinho, set up United in a 3-4-2-1 formation which gave United strength at the back and good pressing ability upfront.
This kept Spurs at bay and prevented them from being at their best.
And then in 'Fergie time', Mourinho switched on the Brutality mode of Mortal Kombat by pressing "M-A-R-T-I-A-L" and "Boom!!", the goal was in!!
5. MATIC-HERERRA COLLABO: A HIT TRACK AT LAST
Finally, the midfield collabo produced their 1st victory in the Premier League. Fans have been worried and "bad-bele" rivals have been celebrating.
Herrera gave everything today, and Matic in his usual style, mixed calmness and ruggedness like hot water and garri.
IN THE END, It was a precious 3 points for Manchester United, delivered by a precious goal from Anthony "Ikechukwu" Martial.
