Manchester United once again escorted home, the second visitor of the week to Old Trafford with another 4 bags of goals. This time it was the turn of Championship side Burton Albion.
These are the five (5) Things ManUtdNaijaFM Learnt from the clash:
1. ANTHONY "IKECHUKWU" MARTIAL
The Young French man from Monaco was at one of his dazzling bests today. He gave the Burton defenders something to think about (whether or not they were truly "called" to be defenders).
He was indeed a nightmare for the defenders, and was unfair to them most of the time as he kept sending them to buy "Gala" with his mesmerising dribbles. He deserved his goal and even more..... . Man of the Match.
2. WITH OR WITHOUT, THE CHOIR STILL SANG
José "Uchenna" Mourinho rested some 1st team players for the clash. This was clearly needed especially for our Striker-in-Chief, Romelu "Timaya" Lukaku and "Agu" Matic who have played every minute this season.
Magic Mkhi and David "Osinachi" De Gea were also rested.
In their absence, United showed great control and still managed to sing the 'FOUR-Chester chorus'.
3. OUR "WHIZ-KID" IS AN ABLE DEPUTY.
With Lukaku rested, Marcus "Rashidi-Yekini" was handed the role of Striker-in-Chief. He took the responsibility on his young shoulders and delivered 2 CHIVITA-stic goals in return.
Thankfully, he got his finishing right today and set the ball rolling for United.
4. MATTEO "SAMBO" DARMIAN
The Italian full back continued his struggles even against the championship side. Usual poor positional play,, slack marking and little or no forward contribution were again evident.
He nearly iced his performance with a goal gift to Burton. I don't know whether to say he needs to improve, or he needs to pray....He needs to do something.
As for Lindelof,.............. (No comments).
5. CARRICK-HERRERA COLLABO WAS FANTASTIC
Manchester United captain Micheal "Jeje" Captain started his 1st match today alongside Ander "Akinbode" Herrera.
Their midfield combo had the feel of "bread and butter" as Herrera brought steel and combat, while Carrick brought dangerous calmness, slicing passes like hot knife through butter.
IN THE END, it was a beautiful and befitting scoreline, and there was no Super-sub move.
Special Kudos to Juan "Bankole" Mata, who made the Burton defenders look like baskets struggling to hold water.
By this Victory, United has been drawn to face Swansea in the fourth round.
